Well, we finally got out of Woodburn and headed through slush and snow over the Coastal Mountains on route 20 and started south toward Bandon. We were on our way south!!
We stayed three nights in Bandon. The first night we took a romantic walk on the beach beneath what would be a full blue moon the next evening…….the first blue moon on December 31st since our wedding back in 1990. We went out for dinner to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary the next night. Another major storm hit the coast that afternoon and evening so it was fun eating dinner listening to 80 mph gusts of wind and heavy rain. It was another full day before we dared take the rig out onto Route 1 and brave the high winds. It was definitely an anniversary we will never forget. :-))
From Bandon we went down the coast to Fort Orford to have the basement door on the rig fixed so it allow access to all of the tools and cooking grill, etc. We made it all the way to Gold Beach that night and again camped on the ocean so we could listen to the waves breaking on the shore all night. I could easily live on an ocean beach. Listening to the waves all night is almost as good as listening to rain on the roof of the motorhome.
Walk on the beach at Gold Beach,OR before we get on the road again.
Sea gulls were having lunch.
Tonight we are in a small campground just north of Eureka, Ca. Tomorrow we will make our way through San Francisco traffic and continue our trip down to Los Angeles.
